Privacy policy
This guide collects very little about you. We don't use cookies on our own pages, we don't run ads or tracking pixels, and we don't sell or share personal information.
Who runs this site
Caye Caulker HQ is an independent guide to Caye Caulker, Belize. For anything about your personal information, contact us at [email protected].
What we collect
When you visit. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and basic browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It doesn't use cookies or identify you; we see only totals, such as page views, referring sites, countries and page speed.
When you email us. If you write to us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it and whatever your message says. We use it only to reply, and to fix the guide if you've spotted something out of date.
Live conditions. The weather and sea temperature at the top of each page are fetched by our server, not by your browser, so your details aren't sent to those data providers.
Why we use it
We rely on our legitimate interests: running a secure, working website, understanding which pages are useful, and answering messages people choose to send us.
Links to booking sites
Some links go to tour and booking sites, through addresses starting with /go/. These links don't set cookies on our site. Once you arrive on a partner's site, that company may use cookies to record that you came from us, and its own privacy policy applies. Our affiliate disclosure explains how these links work.
Who processes your data
- Cloudflare: hosting, security, analytics and forwarding our email
- Google: where our email is delivered and stored
These companies may process data outside the UK, including in the United States, under the safeguards data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
Cloudflare's analytics are aggregated and hold nothing that identifies you. We keep emails for up to two years, unless we need them longer to deal with an issue you've raised.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office or your local data protection authority.
Do Not Track
We don't track you across other websites, so browser Do Not Track signals don't change how this site works.
Children
This guide is written for adults planning a trip and isn't aimed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date below.
Effective November 7, 2026.
